5 Effective Study habits

“One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful”. That’s a pleasing quote, isn’t it? The more we think about it the more the essence of this quote hits us.   Well, if we want to relate this quote in our academics it seems true there too.

The more you study and get out of your comfort zone, challenge yourself enjoy the journey along with it, and finally get some good grades that will have a pretty good impact on your future.  In a nutshell, you need some good habits and routines to succeed in academics, after all, success is not an act but a habit. So, let’s get yourself embraced with some study habits that may help you in your academics and your life may as well.

1 ) Be efficient

Study a little every day.   Instead of piling up everything deal with it in fractions a little by little. The more efficient you are the better your grades. Making studying a part of your daily routine for an hour and two is better than forcing yourself to study for the whole day. This will also help you motivate yourself because it’s just some hours of your daily routine and you can do your other stuff in your spare time.

2) Active Recall

You probably make notes, highlight the important stuff, make flashcards, and many more but even after doing so, you may get bad grades. The only way you can revise and be sure on a topic is active recall. There are two ways for the active recall method one teaching what you have learned method. When you teach someone something you have learned you are producing your concepts from your memory.

This helps your brain to memorize even better and you are more efficient than ever. The second thing for active recall can be solving topical questions about the concept you have learned. You are again using your concepts and making yourself more efficient in this method too.

3) Get as organized as possible.

Keep track of yourself. All your academic activities and all your assignments. Getting a little bit organized will have a good impact on your routine and it will also remove your stress. Your productivity will automatically increase once you are organized. Have a proper schedule for everything because being a mess all the time doesn’t help at all. And don’t try to procrastinate anything that you have in your schedule for some random things unless it’s something of great value to you.

4)Preview the chapters you will learn the next day.

Always preview the content you are going to learn the next day as it will help in learning things easier the next day. It simply allows you to learn better. You will have different questions in your mind if you have previewed the content and are learning this will broaden your concepts on the topic and help you improve in many aspects.

5) Know yourself

Analyze yourself as every individual is different. Try to understand what helps you and what does not. Know that studying all day won’t help you get good grades. You have to know what helps you and follow that path. One day you might feel extra productive and another day not. Do little work more when you are more motivated as simple as that. When you know yourself and understand yourself better that’s when all the fun starts and you keep growing better as time passes.

Those were some of the things that might help you in your academics and make you a better student and a person as well. The last thing I want to say is to believe in yourself. Everything is going to be alright just enjoy the journey while reaching for your destiny and you will have no stress about anything. Don’t forget to take a break as well once in a month or week whatever helps you. You can do whatever you love in your spare time.
